Leona paced about her hotel room, unable to sit still, twirl her thumbs, and do nothing. This can’t be it. She didn’t want to sit in a random room, in a random hotel, as others tried to solve all her problems.

Perhaps she was exaggerating. It was her lawyer’s job to sort her affairs. It was the police’s job to catch bad guys. It was her therapist’s job to listen to her and offer advice and prescribe pills when needed. Unfortunately, none of that stopped her from feeling the way she did.

Wayne was alive and hiding in a love nest with Chelsea, and she wanted to be there when the police went knocking on their door. She wanted to see the expressions on their faces when they realized it was game over. When they realized it was all for nothing.

Sadly, Jeremy was convinced there was a person out there trying to harm her, which meant she had to remain hidden.

She wondered, and not for the first time, if those two things were linked. On one side it would be a massive coincidence; on the other, she couldn’t see how that helped Wayne or Chelsea. If the point was to frame Leona for everything, then why harm her?

Regardless, Jeremy thought this intruder was dangerous and someone they took lightly. He thought whoever killed Michael had broken into her house as well, perhaps in hopes to frame her further. Luckily, the police had scared him away.

However, now they all believed that Chelsea killed Michael. And Leona had to wonder if that meant Chelsea had broken into her house as well. She tried to recollect what the intruder looked like. Although she saw the person in the dark, for only a fleeting moment, she was fairly sure the build did not match. It couldn’t have been Chelsea. Her curvaceous body would betray her.

Did Wayne break in? Leona banished that immediately. It was too early to ponder about such things after learning of all his other betrayals. Her heart couldn’t take any more punches at the moment. Although it would make sense. Then again, he would know about the vase. Maybe he forgot in his haste?

Maybe it didn’t matter either way. She had to have faith that Jeremy knew what he was doing. She was sure he would do his best to catch this person, catch them all, so she didn’t have to worry about such things. Besides, she had other things to stress about. It was eating her alive that she had no idea who this mystery source was. Could it be the journalist who came to see her in jail? Why was he helping her? Why did he get involved? Why tell her and not go to the police? She had all these questions, and there was only one way to find the underlying cause of things.

She was sure Jeremy would be angry at her if he discovered what she was about to do, but Leona searched through her call log and stopped at the unknown number that belonged to her mystery man.
